The unemployment insurance (UI) program provides temporary, partial wage replacement to individuals who are unemployed through no fault of their own. During economic downturns, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic, UI helps ensure workers', including those from historically underserved community, basic needs are met. How would you recommend changing the program to make it even better?

In its efforts to eliminate administrative barriers and ensure that all eligible unemployed have access to adequate benefits, the US Department of Labor seeks input from workers and worker advocacy organizations representing racial and ethnic minorities, individuals with limited English proficiency, individuals with disabilities, and other groups to share their experiences and perspectives. In addition, insights and suggestions regarding advancing equity in the unemployment insurance program are welcomed from the general public, including employers, states, researchers, and others who may be interested in sharing their views.
