Equitable Federal Contractor Workplaces

Commit to higher wage standards, set precedent as model employer

Description :

Commit to higher wage standards and set precedent as a model employer. The Biden-Harris Administration's commitment to increase the minimum wage for federal contractors to $15 an hour sets a strong precedent as the model employer for all other businesses both small and large to emulate. Building on this commitment, the Administration and DOL in concert should commit to automatic annual increases in the federal contractor minimum wage. Higher wages would immediately improve the economic security of federally contracted workers with low incomes, while automatic annual increases would help contractor wages keep pace with cost-of-living adjustments and inflation, also bolstering economic security.
