Educating Employers in ALL Types of Diversity Edited

When people hear about diversity trainings, their minds go straight race discrimination. That is not the case, though. Diversity and implicit bias training are topics that are becoming popular for workplaces. So popular, that a lot of people are starting to think that these trainings are becoming a fad. Diversity is about race, gender, ethnicity, religion, disabilities, socioeconomic, education background, etc. Employers need to enforce trainings that touch on diverse topics that aren't as known. A way to ensure that this happens, is to get employees opinions on their diversity and different types of diversity. These trainings will not only help employers by getting more diverse employees and making sure that these employees are treated fairly, but it also informs employees about the different types of diversity.

Some employers conduct these trainings, but nothing changes within the organization. To ensure that change occurs, there should be policies put into place to make sure that employers are following through. These policies will hold employers accountable to make sure that diversity is occurring within their organization. To make it clear, diversity at ALL levels of the organization-- not just at the lower level of the organization. If employers are going to get reprimanded for not abiding by the policies, they will start taking them more seriously.
