let me start by saying that all people are valuable and can add value to any situation. So as an employer how does the govt expect me to balance this idea of equity with ability? it is best for the consumer for me to hire people based upon their ability to do the job vs focusing on an executive order. Currently, my company employees 12% African American, 6% Asian, 6% Portarican, 6% Lebanese, and I could go on. however, they all have their job and keep their job based upon their personal growth and current ability to do the job. Should we include in this discussion the responsibility we have to set standards to include hiring people based upon ability? Training them so well that they can leave but treat them so well that they will stay?
